The Trump administration wants to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine by Easter
The US presidential administration has told European officials that it plans to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine by Easter (April 20), Bloomberg reports.

Western officials have described achieving a ceasefire by that deadline as "highly ambitious and unrealistic," even if US and Russian representatives begin preparing for talks in Saudi Arabia next week. One of the agency's sources said the end of this year is the most likely date for ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

Earlier, Strana.uaa published a plan to end the war in 100 days - it included a ceasefire during Easter, the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Kursk region, and the signing of a peace declaration by May 9. The Ukrainian presidential office called the material "nonsense spread by the Russians."

Amid the upcoming negotiations, European countries are working on a large military aid package for Ukraine. According to Bloomberg, specific plans for support will not be announced until February 23, 2025 - before the end of the snap parliamentary elections in Germany.

On February 12, Donald Trump announced that he had agreed to start negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war during a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky has repeatedly stressed that there will be no peace talks without the participation of Ukraine.
