The Palestinian Hamas movement has expressed its readiness to release all Israeli hostages simultaneously, but with one condition. Al Jazeera reported.

Hamas has outlined its position during negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

"We are ready for the second phase. In this phase, the hostages will be released simultaneously. This process will be carried out within the framework of a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of troops from the Gaza Strip," Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said.

Hamas's new initiative was announced after US President Donald Trump opposed the weekly phased release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza. Hamas was immediately called upon by their families to release all hostages.

On January 15, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on the release of hostages in Gaza and the introduction of a ceasefire in the enclave. The agreement, which includes three phases, entered into force on January 19.

The first phase lasted 42 days, during which Hamas was to release at least 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons. 19 hostages have already been returned to Israel. Negotiations are underway on the second and third phases of the agreement.
