Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the Russian army is advancing in the Kursk region.
According to the Russian leader, the offensive is taking place "along the entire combat contact line."
"The latest information I received an hour ago indicates that tonight, fighters of the 810th Brigade crossed the border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine and entered enemy territory," Putin said.
The Ukrainian side has responded to these claims. According to General Staff representative Dmytro Likhovoy, reports of breakthroughs in the defense of the Kursk region do not correspond to reality.
As of 3:00 PM on February 19, there have been 12 armed clashes in the Kursk region since the beginning of the day, three of which are still ongoing, while the rest have been repelled.
One of the repelled attacks reportedly occurred around 6 AM. Russian units attempted to advance toward the Ukrainian state border in the Nikolaevo-Daryino-Zhuravka direction, but "the attempt ended in failure," said a representative of the Ukrainian General Staff.
