Trump called Zelensky an "unelected dictator"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is refusing to hold elections despite his low approval ratings, US President Donald Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.

Trump also called his Ukrainian counterpart a "dictator".

"A dictator without an election. Zelensky needs to act quickly, otherwise his country will be completely destroyed. We are successfully negotiating with Russia to end the war. Everyone has recognized that only Trump and his administration can do this," the US leader said.

He added that "he loves Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a very bad job, and his country has been destroyed and millions of people have died for no reason."

Trump claimed that Zelensky had persuaded the United States to allocate $350 billion for a “war that should never have been started and could never be won.”

The American leader clarified that this amount is $200 billion more than what Europe has spent on Ukraine, and Zelensky admitted that half of the funds received from the United States have disappeared.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president said that the information that Washington allegedly provided Kiev with $500 billion in aid is not true.

“We have completely different numbers. We have everything very clearly. The war cost us $320 billion. 120 billion is us, the Ukrainian people, taxpayers. 200 billion is the United States and its European allies. These are weapons and ammunition. The United States gave us about $67 billion in weapons and $31.5 billion in direct financial assistance to the budget,” the Ukrainian leader clarified.

At the same time, Zelensky added that the statements about the alleged $500 billion in aid and its return in minerals or other resources are not true.

There were also separate programs, of course, we are grateful for the humanitarian aid, but it is impossible to say that the total cost of the aid was $500 billion and demand that it be returned in minerals or other things.
