US President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, made his first statement after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. He noted that he spent the day in talks with the country's top leadership.
"A long and fruitful day of talks with the top leadership of Ukraine. Extensive and constructive discussions with the courageous leader of a country at war, Volodymyr Zelensky, and his talented team ensuring national security," he wrote on social media.
Kellogg's words were a response to Zelensky's first statement after meeting with him in Kyiv. According to the Ukrainian president, the meeting with Trump's special representative "restored hope" that the country will continue cooperation with the United States.
“With General Kellogg, we discussed the situation on the front line, the need to release all our prisoners of war held in Russia, and the need for a system of clear, reliable security guarantees - this will ensure that war never returns and that Russia no longer deprives people of their lives,” Zelensky said on social media.
On February 19, US President Donald Trump’s special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, visited Kyiv and met with President Zelensky. The parties were supposed to hold a press conference following the talks. However, the event was canceled for unknown reasons.
Earlier, the Ukrainian President said that US special representative Kellogg, during his visit to Kyiv, should clarify Washington’s correct position on ending the war with Ukrainian citizens and military personnel. According to Zelensky, it is important for Kellogg to personally visit Kyiv and other cities and communicate with the people. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
