A bridge collapses in South Korea - there are victims and victims

Three people were killed and five others were injured when a bridge collapsed during construction work on a highway in South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported.

The tragedy occurred at 09:49 local time on February 25 on the Seoul-Sejong Expressway. At the time of the accident, workers were using a crane to move a steel structure between the pillars.

Eight workers were under the bridge when it collapsed. Three of them died, and five victims were taken to hospital with injuries.

Rescue efforts and official reactions

The South Korean National Fire Agency has mobilized firefighters for search and rescue operations due to the possibility of missing people.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok also gave an urgent order to mobilize all resources and personnel to carry out rescue operations at the scene.
