Zelensky visits Saudi Arabia: talks with the US and new proposals

Zelensky will not meet with US representatives

The talks between Ukraine and the United States are scheduled to be held in the city of Jeddah, on the Red Sea coast. However, Zelensky will not personally participate in these talks.

As the president himself noted, the meeting from the Ukrainian side will be attended by:

- Head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Yermak,
- His Deputy Pavlo Palisa,
- Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sibiga,
- Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.

US-Russia dialogue: disagreements over participation

According to CNN, US and Russian officials may hold separate meetings in Saudi Arabia this week.

However, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova denied this information and denied that Russian representatives would participate in such meetings.

New Ukrainian proposal: air and sea ceasefire

On March 11, Kiev will present to US officials a proposal to cease fire in the air and sea against Russia, a Ukrainian official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

"We have a proposal for a ceasefire in the air and sea, because these are options that are easy to implement and monitor," he said.

Although Ukraine has indicated that it is ready to stop direct hostilities with Russia, it is unclear how this proposal will be received.
