Moscow accuses Kyiv of undermining Trump’s peace efforts
On March 21, Russia’s Ministry of Defense accused Ukraine of targeting the Sudzha gas metering station in Kursk region to discredit US President Donald Trump’s peace proposal. According to Moscow, Ukrainian forces, retreating from the area, deliberately sabotaged the facility, which was under their control since August and had once transferred 40 million cubic meters of gas daily to Europe.

Russia also reported intercepting and destroying 43 Ukrainian drones across Volgograd, Rostov, Kursk, and Belgorod regions. Ukraine denied striking the facility, claiming Russia had previously targeted it themselves in what they called a “propaganda move.”

Both Putin and Zelensky had earlier supported Trump’s 30-day ceasefire plan concerning energy infrastructure. Despite this, both sides now accuse each other of violating the agreement.
