Uzbek citizens detained in Saudi Arabia repatriated
On March 12-14, 19 Uzbek citizens, including women who were previously detained by Saudi Arabian law enforcement agencies, were repatriated.

It was noted that as a result of negotiations conducted by the Embassy of Uzbekistan with the competent authorities of Saudi Arabia, all those detained were returned to their families.

The Uzbek citizens traveled to Saudi Arabia on tourist visas, but remained in the country to find work without obtaining the necessary permits. Among those arrested are compatriots under the age of 20.

The embassy urges all citizens planning to travel abroad to study the legislation of the host country in advance, respect local traditions and norms, and prepare all necessary documents for legalization and employment.

“In addition, we recommend learning the basics of the host country’s language in order to communicate in various situations. If you encounter difficult situations in Saudi Arabia, you can contact the embassy in Riyadh or the Consulate General in Jeddah,” the report says.
