Trump imposes 104% tariffs on China — Beijing vows response

US President Donald Trump has imposed new 104% tariffs on Chinese imports. In response, China vowed to take “resolute and effective measures,” CNN reported.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said, “The US continues arbitrary and extreme pressure. China firmly opposes this and will never accept bullying behavior.”

The latest tariffs follow previous 20% hikes and were increased after China’s promise of 34% retaliatory duties.

While no immediate countermeasures were announced, Beijing emphasized it would not remain idle if China’s interests were harmed.
