Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on April 11 officially enacted a National Security and Defense Council decision imposing sanctions on pro-Russian media figures and public personalities. The decree was published on the official presidential website.
Journalists and producers on the sanctions list
The sanctions list includes:
18 media outlets,
71 individuals, both Russian and Ukrainian.
Notable names include:
“Russia 1” correspondent Alexander Sladkov,
journalist Arina Sharapova,
groups “Quest Pistols” and “Griby”,
music producer Yuriy Bardash, who worked with singer Luna.
Sanctions also target the “shadow fleet” and Chinese nationals
In a separate decree, Zelensky imposed sanctions against individuals linked to Russia’s “shadow fleet”.
These measures affect:
59 individuals,
including Russian and Chinese citizens.
Asset freezes, capital bans, and award revocation
Sanctions include:
freezing of assets in Ukraine,
ban on capital exports,
revocation of state awards, if applicable.
Zelensky: “We are increasing pressure”
“These new sanctions increase pressure on war propagandists and those justifying Russia. Together with international partners, we are disrupting Russia’s shadow fleet operations. The decrees are already online,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
He added that a new round of sanctions against officials is in preparation, to be announced soon.
