Ukraine produces 40% of its weapons — Zelensky

Ukraine is actively using its domestic defense potential in the defensive war against Russia. This was announced by the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky at the defense industry forum held in Kiev on April 16.

"We do not rely only on the world - Ukraine produces its own weapons. Today, more than 40% of our weapons used in active operations are domestically produced," Zelensky said.

Major steps in the defense industry
According to the Ukrainian leader, more than 1,000 types of weapons are being produced in the country. Among them are artillery shells, long-range missiles, drones and other defense equipment.

Zelensky also noted the expansion of international cooperation in the Ukrainian defense industry. The number of joint projects is increasing and noted the need to effectively use both domestic and foreign resources to ensure the country's security.

Technological development: drones and missiles
According to the DPA agency, Ukraine is currently rapidly modernizing its attack drones and artillery systems. It is also consistently developing its missile program.
