Uzbek man deported from Turkey for photographing woman in metro
On April 13, an Uzbek citizen was deported from Turkey for taking a photo of a woman in the metro without her consent, nova24.uz reported.

The woman filed a complaint with authorities, and the man was detained. After investigation, his work permit was canceled, he was fined, and forcibly deported for violating personal privacy.

Initially, he faced potential criminal charges and jail time, but thanks to intervention from Uzbekistan's consulate, the punishment was reduced to administrative measures.

In 2024, Uzbekistan’s consulate in Istanbul had already warned citizens that taking photos or videos of others without permission is illegal under Turkish law.
