The construction of the world's highest bridge is nearing completion in China's Guizhou province. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, located over the Beipan River, will be 625 meters above the river and is scheduled to open in the second half of 2025, Oddity Central reports.
Construction work, which began in January 2022, is now 95 percent complete. According to Zhang Shenglin, chief engineer of Guizhou Highway Group, the bridge will once again demonstrate the power of China's infrastructure to the world.
The project will connect the two banks of the deepest part of the Beipan River Valley, reducing travel time from one hour to one minute.
The bridge is expected to become an important destination not only for transport, but also for tourism. One of its towers will have a glass elevator for panoramic views, a cafe and a special bar for stargazing.
For adventure lovers, the bridge will also have an observation deck with a transparent glass floor and the world's highest jump.
For your information, Guizhou province already has more than half of the 100 highest bridges in the world.
