A well-known entrepreneur and head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk has announced his intention to leave his job in the US government. The Washington Post reports this, citing an anonymous source, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the source, Musk's term as a special civil servant ends in May of this year and there is no information yet about its extension.
According to the publication, the main reason for Musk's decision to leave the government is that he is tired of "unpleasant and immoral attacks from the left."
"Elon Musk is tired of the constant, inconvenient and rude attacks against him from the left. "Therefore, he is deciding to leave his position in the government," the newspaper writes in its reports.
However, at the moment, Musk is not worried about the future of the DOGE organization he heads. Because members of his team have already shown high results and managed to find their places in many US federal agencies, the publication writes. A senior White House official, who did not disclose his name, also highly appreciated the results achieved by the DOGE agency, noting that the organization's efficiency "speaks for itself."
It should be recalled that the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was established at the initiative of President Donald Trump, and its main task is to "reduce government spending and optimize the work of federal agencies." The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, also previously stated that the DOGE agency had identified large expenses that were not approved by Congress and were "at an astonishing level."
There is currently no clear information about how Elon Musk's tenure in government will end and what changes will follow in the organization. However, news on this topic is being followed with great interest not only in the United States, but also around the world. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
