A strong earthquake occurred in Istanbul (video)

Today, April 23, a strong earthquake was recorded in the largest metropolis of Turkey - Istanbul. According to local media, the strength of tectonic movements reached 6.2 points. The earthquake occurred at 12:49 local time.

According to the Turkish news agency Türkiye Today, the tremors were felt not only in various areas of Istanbul, but also in the city of Bursa and surrounding districts. The unexpected strong tremor caused a short-term panic among the population.

So far, the local government and the Emergency Situations Department have not provided accurate information about the number of victims and injured. There is also no official information about the extent of damage to infrastructure.
