The UAE is integrating artificial intelligence into its legislative system to help create and update laws, reported nova24.uz via the Financial Times.
This is expected to be the world’s first use of AI as a full participant in the lawmaking process, not just as a tool. The initiative, called "AI-driven regulation", has been approved by the government.
A new government unit — a regulatory intelligence agency — has been created to coordinate AI in legislation. The new system aims to make the legislative process 70% faster and more accurate.
The AI will analyze a comprehensive database that includes federal and local laws, court rulings, and public service data, and use this analysis to propose updates tailored to current social and economic conditions.
It’s still unclear which AI models will be used, but multiple systems are expected to be deployed. Experts say the success of the project will depend on strong oversight and clear limitations. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
