Uzbekistan will abolish the travel agency license and introduce a notification procedure

The licensing procedure previously required for conducting travel agency activities in Uzbekistan will now be abolished, and a notification system will be introduced instead. This innovation was reflected in the draft law “On Amendments and Addenda to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improving the procedures for licensing, permitting and notification,” which was discussed at the meeting of the Legislative Chamber on April 29.

This draft law, prepared by the Ministry of Justice, was approved by deputies in the third reading and sent to the Senate for discussion. The draft provides for the abolition of 12 types of entrepreneurship that require licenses, permits and notifications. It is also creating the opportunity to apply through State Service Centers to submit documents related to licensing, permitting and notification.

According to the State Services Agency, now three types of activities, including travel agency services, will be transferred from the licensing system to the notification form. That is, business entities will only need to send information about the start or termination of their activities to the relevant authorities through a special notification.

The deputies noted that the adoption of this draft law will serve to further simplify the licensing and permitting system in the country, reduce bureaucratic barriers, create favorable conditions for business entities, form a level playing field in the market, and provide comprehensive support for business.

Experts say that these changes will create more favorable conditions for entrepreneurs operating in the tourism sector, contribute to the further development of the industry, the creation of new jobs, and an increase in the flow of foreign tourists to Uzbekistan. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
