The US is changing its approach to Ukraine

The United States is changing its diplomatic approach to the war between Ukraine and Russia. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said that Washington will no longer be a "running" mediator in this conflict.

She stressed that the American side will continue to support any initiatives and actions leading to peace, but will act in a more cautious position, without directly interfering in the process.

Sanctions will not be lifted

At the same time, Bruce said that the economic and political sanctions imposed on Russia will remain in force. America does not intend to lift these restrictions.

According to Bruce, both sides - both Russia and Ukraine - now need to work on practical and viable solutions to end the conflict.

"The war can be ended not only by external pressure, but also by internal solutions and political will. It is time for each side to think about real steps," he said.

Rubio: "Neither Putin nor Ukraine will be able to achieve their maximum goals"

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted in an interview with Fox News that the confrontation between Moscow and Kiev remains serious.

"Putin cannot seize all of Ukraine's territory. Ukraine cannot return Russia to the borders that existed before 2014," he said.

According to him, the US is not giving up diplomatic efforts for peace, but the pace and extent of its participation in this process will depend on Donald Trump's future policy.

Rubio also noted that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is becoming more important for the world, touching on the situation on the international political agenda.
