
A very sad traffic accident occurred in the center of Stuttgart, Germany. On the evening of May 2, a car hit several people on a pedestrian crossing near the Olgaeck tram stop.
Time and location of the tragedy
The accident occurred at around 17:50 local time (20:50 Tashkent time). A black Mercedes G-class car driven by a 42-year-old driver ran into a crowd of people.
Injured and killed
According to the DPA agency, at least 8 people were injured, three of whom are in serious condition. One person was given emergency resuscitation at the scene.
It was officially confirmed that the 46-year-old woman died in hospital from serious injuries in the evening.
Driver arrested
German police have arrested the driver of the vehicle. His identity is known - a 42-year-old German citizen. An investigation has been launched to determine his actions.

Law enforcement agencies are currently assessing the situation as a "tragic traffic accident". An official response to the rumors circulating on the Internet was given:
"At this time, there are no signs of an attack or deliberate action," the police said in a message on social media.
Station closed, traffic stopped
Traffic around the Olgaeck station has been stopped until the investigation and technical inspection are completed. Ambulance, fire and police forces were called to the scene.
