Donald Trump announces final decision on presidential term

The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced that he intends to serve only two terms in the White House. He made this statement in an interview with NBC News.

Recently, various speculations emerged in the media and social networks about Trump possibly running for a third term. These rumors intensified in April when the Trump Organization, a company associated with the president, began selling red caps with the inscription “Trump 2028.”

However, Trump dismissed the idea of a third term.
“I will serve eight years, two terms as president. That has always been very important to me. Many people are asking me to run for a third term — more than ever before. But I know it’s not legal, and I won’t do it,” Trump stated.

In the interview, he referred to his remaining time in office as “four great years” and noted that he plans to hand over leadership to a worthy individual, preferably a “great Republican.”

When asked about the future of the Make America Great Again movement, Trump responded that there are many talented candidates who could carry it forward. He mentioned politicians like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President J.D. Vance as possible successors.

“Right now, sitting here, I could name 10, 15, maybe even 20 people who could lead this movement,” Trump added. He refrained from giving a full list of names, implying that a new generation of Republican leaders is on the rise.

As a reminder, under the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, no person can be elected president more than twice. Changing this would require a constitutional amendment — a politically difficult process requiring approval by two-thirds of Congress and three-fourths of the states.
