India-Pakistan conflict escalates

As of May 8, 2025, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated. In response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Kashmir that killed 26 tourists, India conducted airstrikes on May 7 targeting terrorist group facilities in Pakistan.

Pakistan reported 31 civilian deaths, including 10 relatives of Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar. India stated that the strikes targeted only terrorist infrastructure, resulting in over 100 militants killed.

On May 8, multiple explosions occurred in Lahore. The Pakistani military claimed to have shot down 25 Indian drones. India reported intercepting drone and missile attacks launched by Pakistan.
