In China, an "iPhone cemetery" discovered: a secret empire of thieves revealed!
One of the most unpleasant events for any smartphone owner is its theft or loss. In such situations, many lose hope of finding their device and are forced to buy a new one. However, modern technologies allow tracking the location of devices. It was precisely this way that the following address of stolen iPhones from around the world was discovered: the "Feiyang Times" building in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.

This building has become a true nightmare for Apple device owners around the world. According to an investigation by the Financial Times, hundreds or possibly thousands of stolen and lost iPhones have ended up here. It became known that devices stolen in large cities such as London, New York, and Los Angeles appear here literally within a week.

Officially, "Feiyang Times" functions as a smartphone repair and sales center. However, according to victims speaking out on Apple forums, not everything here is clean and transparent. Specifically, shops trading used and sometimes stolen iPhones were discovered on the building's fourth floor.

Here, not only complete devices but also locked, faulty phones are gathered. These devices are sold in parts as spare components. Demand for such products is extremely high, so sellers pay no attention at all to the origin of the devices. Even locked phones are actively bought in the building's shops.

The case of Sam Amrani, a London resident, demonstrates the seriousness of the situation. His new iPhone 15 Pro was snatched from his hands right on the city streets. Using the online tracking function, he managed to determine the subsequent route of the phone. The smartphone moved through several addresses in London, then via Hong Kong ended up in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. Thus, its precise location was identified.

Victims report that after the theft, criminals even contacted device owners through iMessage. They resorted to various threats to force the owners to unlock their phones. If the owners refused to comply, criminals threatened to sell the device’s main component—the motherboard—and disclose the personal data of the owners.

In reality, extracting data from a locked device is almost impossible. Nevertheless, such threats cause serious fear among smartphone owners, especially those unfamiliar with technology. The fact that Apple has yet to provide any official comments regarding this matter demonstrates the seriousness of the situation.

According to experts, such incidents expose vulnerabilities in device-locking systems and theft prevention methods. However, Apple and other technology companies have so far failed to offer a comprehensive and effective solution to the problem.

Thus, the city of Shenzhen has turned into a global hub for collecting stolen devices. Here, smartphones are disassembled for parts and shipped around the world. This contributes to the growth of smartphone thefts globally. Analysts believe international law enforcement agencies must take extensive measures to address this situation.

At the same time, every buyer must carefully consider the origin of devices when purchasing. If consumers stop buying such phones, the stolen device market will disappear by itself.

This incident has generated a significant resonance worldwide. Many users demand more effective and decisive actions from Apple to combat such situations. This incident should serve as an important lesson not only for Apple but for other smartphone manufacturers as well.

The editorial board of Zamin.uz will continue to closely monitor such situations and recommends that its readers always exercise caution regarding the safety of their phones. Smartphones are not just devices for us—they have become an important part of our personal lives. Ensuring their safety is every user's responsibility.
