An unyielding attack on Kiev: missiles, drones, and a life-long struggle

An unyielding attack on Kiev: missiles, drones, and a life-long struggle
On the night of May 24, the Ukrainian capital Kiev once again came under a massive attack by Russian troops. This time, unlike usual, the attack was carried out simultaneously using both ballistic missiles and large-scale flying vehicles (drones). According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, air defense systems in the city and its outskirts were in continuous operation during the attack.

According to Klitschko's official Telegram channel, eight civilians have been injured as a result of the attack so far. Two of them were hospitalized in the Dnipro district, and four more received medical assistance on the spot in the Svyatoshinsky district. Information about the remaining victims has not yet been disclosed.

The catastrophic consequences of the military attack were recorded in five different districts of Kyiv. In particular, varying degrees of fragmentation were observed in the Solomensky, Svyatoshinsky, Dnipro, Obolon and Shevchenko districts. These fragments have also damaged infrastructure and buildings in some cases. In the Obolon district, fragments of weapons fell on a shopping center, forcing local residents to urgently evacuate to safer areas.

Klitschko noted that a fire broke out in one of the residential buildings in the Obolon district, which was extinguished by firefighters in a timely manner. He also called on the population of Kiev to be vigilant and to immediately respond to any air attack warning signal.

The attack began on the evening of May 23 after a drone threat was detected in Kiev and a subsequent warning was issued regarding the threat of ballistic missiles. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian side launched ballistic missiles in the direction of Kiev, and this attack was carried out on a large scale.

After midnight on May 24, Mayor Klitschko reported that 20 large-scale attack aircraft were heading towards Kiev. Such attacks are considered not only to cause physical harm, but also as a psychological attempt to create a constant sense of fear and instability among the population.

Currently, the Kiev defense forces and city services are working to provide assistance to all victims, restore damaged infrastructure, and ensure security. The country's authorities are calling on the international community to take decisive measures against Russia's ongoing attacks.

Against the backdrop of these events, the Ukrainian people are once again showing their determination and courage. Their courage and daily heroism are of great importance in protecting not only Kiev, but the entire country. Every attack, every shell, and every fire is an attempt to break the will of the people. However, in Ukraine, there is only one answer to these attempts: continuous struggle and great patience.
