Could the death penalty be restored in Russia for terrorists?
The leader of the Just Russia - For Truth party of the Russian Federation, Sergei Mironov, has once again put the restoration of the death penalty for terrorists on the agenda. According to him, the most just punishment for terrorists who pose a direct threat to people's lives and sacrifice innocent lives can only be death.

"It is wrong to approach any terrorist act from a humanitarian point of view. Together with our faction, we have repeatedly put forward this idea, and now we will be more resolute in this matter and achieve our goal," Mironov said. According to him, terrorists and their criminal accomplices must be severely punished, because this form of crime poses a great threat to the peace and security of society.

The Russian political leader noted that the terrible tragedies that have occurred in the Bryansk and Kursk regions in recent days and their consequences have made this issue even more urgent. "Such terrible events have caused great pain for our people. "The origin of this inhumanity has revealed the true goals and true face of the government led by Volodymyr Zelensky," Mironov added.

He stressed that the Zelensky regime is a threat not only to Russia, but also to international security. According to Mironov, the current regime in Ukraine must be completely abolished, thereby eliminating the main causes of the conflict and ensuring permanent neutrality for Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Russia, Valery Zorkin, also touched upon the legal aspects of introducing the death penalty in the country. In his opinion, the only way to restore the death penalty in Russia is to adopt a new constitution. This possibility does not exist under current legislation.

It should be recalled that two serious incidents have occurred in Russia in recent days. On the evening of May 31, a road bridge collapsed in the Vygonichsky district of the Bryansk region, and at that very moment the Klimov-Moscow passenger train passing under the bridge crashed. Seven people died in the tragedy, and 66 others were injured to varying degrees.

It was also noted that a railway bridge collapsed in the Kursk region on the night of June 1. These events caused great panic and anxiety in the Russian public. It is noted that the threat of terrorism in the country has increased.

This proposal, put forward by Mironov, is causing widespread discussion in the country. While some public representatives and political circles support it, human rights defenders and international organizations are sharply criticizing this decision.

Currently, this topic remains one of the central points of the Russian political agenda, and discussions on this issue are expected to intensify in the near future.
