The new military-political confrontation in the Middle East is heightening global concerns. US warships and Israel's aggressive policy could turn the regional conflict into a full-scale war. This process could lead not only to military, but also to energy and economic crises.
What are the conclusions after the first three days of war?
Farhod Karimov: Currently, several US aircraft carriers and patrol ships from Southeast Asia are moving toward the Middle East, particularly the Persian Gulf. The main goal may be possible strikes against Iran. Israel is trying to draw the US into this war as well. That is, they want the US to join the process as soon as possible, trying to create provocative situations. For example, if Iran strikes US military bases in the region, the US could enter the conflict. Trump has also stated that Israel must be protected and acknowledged the presence of US weapons in Israel, meaning the US may be preparing to join the conflict.
As for the duration of the war, Iran has said it has accepted the war and will not stop until Israel stops its attacks. Israel, for its part, has said it will continue to attack until its last target is destroyed. So, even if the war does not last long, tensions will remain high in the coming days.
Fazliddin Madiev: From another angle, Middle Eastern oil infrastructure can reportedly only withstand such turmoil for about a week. If the situation does not ease, it could lead to global crises. On the other hand, organizations like NATO prepare their reserves on a monthly basis. Naturally, the war may last around a month, but not much more.
Strategically, Iran is on one of the world’s most important geopolitical lines, and if supplies in this region are cut off, it will affect all countries. There are also countries that could benefit from the situation: the United States, Russia, and oil-rich countries, including the Arab states.
On the other hand, there is not a single extra grain of gunpowder left anywhere in the world. Old conflicts are reigniting and no one knows what will happen tomorrow. Iran is in a very complex situation, with US military bases in neighboring Arab countries.
