In recent weeks, there has been serious analysis and discussion in the international arena regarding new secret negotiations between Ukraine and Germany on arms deliveries, Bild reported. According to sources, the Ukrainian government sent a full list to Berlin to expand military equipment and increase security capacity.
According to official information, the Ukrainian side has shown great interest in four new IRIS-T missile systems. In addition, 1,500 guided missiles for the IRIS-T SLM medium-range complex and 500 guided missiles for the IRIS-T SLS short-range system have been requested from Berlin. The Kyiv government is also requesting the delivery of 200,000 40mm anti-aircraft missiles to ensure full defense capability.
According to information, Ukraine is demanding weapons in three main directions: air defense systems, armored transport vehicles, and electronic warfare technologies. Experts say that such requests will cost the German economy billions of euros. Nevertheless, in Berlin, the list sent by the Ukrainian government has already been reviewed, key parameters have been discussed, and security priorities have been defined.
Currently, the results of the negotiations between the two countries may affect the entire European security environment. In addition, Germany’s decisions may usher in a new stage of direct assistance to Ukraine and further strengthen its defense capabilities.
