Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, commenting on the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, emphasized, “if this process continues, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.”
According to him, the Russian and Ukrainian delegations are striving to reach a general agreement in the near future. Fidan noted that if this process continues at the current pace, it may be possible to find a temporary solution to the conflict.
The minister’s other statements regarding Syria also drew attention:
▪️“A new administration has been formed in Syria. Turkey fully supports its legitimacy.”
▪️“The existence of armed groups in Syria cannot be accepted under any circumstances.”
▪️“We will not allow the scenario in Iraq to be repeated in Syria due to actions connected to the PKK.”
▪️“Turkey is fully prepared for the current changes. We do not want to lose another forty years.”
Fidan’s words are regarded as important information for the fate of the region and international relations. Turkey’s position and future steps before the negotiations are becoming even more significant for stability in the region.
