An incident in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai (Kuban), according to police data, shows the dangerous line between crime and excessive belief in luck.
Hope and illusion sometimes lead a person toward crime. In Krasnodar, a 53-year-old kiosk seller stole more than 1,000 lottery tickets from his workplace — with a total value of 200,000 rubles (approximately 26 million Uzbek soms). This was reported by the regional Department of Internal Affairs, writes Pravilamag.
According to the lottery kiosk owner, after a strange spike in sales in recent days, the seller suddenly stopped coming to work. After that, he contacted the police.
The seller was soon detained by law enforcement. During questioning, he admitted his guilt. “The 53-year-old man, during several working days, took lottery tickets without paying for them, scratched off the protective layer, but didn’t win anything,” said the police report.
A criminal case has been opened under the article of fraud. If his guilt is proven, he may face up to two years in prison.
