Putin Does Not Believe Trump's Ultimatum, Expects Frontline Collapse

Russia believes that a turning point in Ukraine will occur within 2–3 months.

Tense and conflicting developments are once again taking place on the global political stage. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s latest stance has sparked debates among Western politicians and analysts. According to Reuters, Putin is not taking Donald Trump’s demands and threats seriously.

Based on confidential sources, it is reported that Putin currently believes in achieving success through Russia’s military actions. He thinks the Ukrainian front may collapse completely within 2–3 months. Therefore, the Kremlin has begun actively pushing to fully take control of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

It is also reported that the Russian General Staff presented a similar scenario to Putin and is encouraging him to prepare accordingly. This could signal that Russia’s operations in the region are entering a new phase.

At the same time, the Kremlin does not entirely rule out the possibility of negotiations. However, Moscow's leadership does not view U.S. President Donald Trump as a serious political rival. Sources say that Putin does not trust Trump’s statements because he has previously changed his position multiple times or failed to act at all.

Many analysts see this as a grand political game. In their view, Russia aims to solidify its position through military success in the coming weeks, thus gaining leverage in potential negotiations.

These developments could have serious consequences not only regionally but also globally. Whether the war of words between Trump and Putin will turn into real actions remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: both sides are firmly defending their interests.
