According to the SSS, the AUE group carries out its propaganda mainly through the internet, social media platforms, and closed chats. They attract curious youth and gradually involve them in the criminal world. This form of activity may lead a person into a criminal life and cause them to lose their future.
What are the penalties?
Under Russian law, the AUE movement is recognized as an extremist organization. Participating in it or promoting it may lead to fines ranging from 300,000 to 600,000 rubles or imprisonment for up to one year. In some cases, up to four years of mandatory correctional labor or up to six years in prison may be imposed.
