The “Uzbekkosmos” agency has proposed hosting the 2028 International Astronautical Congress in Samarkand. This prestigious forum annually brings together around 10,000 space industry experts and major companies from around the world.

Organizers say that renowned entrepreneur and SpaceX founder Elon Musk is also expected to attend the upcoming international event. The reason is that he has previously participated in astronautical congresses as a special guest.

If the congress is held in Samarkand, it is expected to become a landmark event not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Central Asian region in terms of space technology and cooperation.
