Donald Trump claimed he deserves the Nobel Prize
US President Donald Trump, while trying to mediate in the Russia–Ukraine war, mentioned his “successes” in establishing peace. At a recent meeting, he declared: “I ended six wars,” later raising that number to seven.

Trump presents himself as a “peacemaking leader” and insists he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. His administration claims he mediated in conflicts between Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, Rwanda and Congo, Thailand and Cambodia, and Armenia and Azerbaijan. Some countries expressed gratitude to Trump, while others denied the role of the US.

For example, in the India–Pakistan agreement, Delhi stated that talks were held directly between the two countries. Rwanda and Congo signed a ceasefire, but fighting is reported to have continued. Likewise, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan supported the agreement signed in Washington, but experts note that lasting peace is not yet guaranteed.

Trump also positioned himself as a mediator in the dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Nile River, but no final settlement was reached. Regarding Serbia and Kosovo, he claimed to have prevented a war, but experts point out that there were in fact no battles between these states.

According to analysts, Trump did play some role as a mediator in certain conflicts, but it is difficult to say that stable peace has been established in all the “seven wars” he mentioned.
