US President Donald Trump has announced a new initiative to paint the border wall with Mexico black. This was reported by “The Hill”, citing US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.
According to the information, this order was given directly by Trump, and workers have already begun painting some sections of the wall black. According to Noem, in the president’s opinion, the black color heats the wall very strongly under the sun, reducing migrants’ desire to climb over it.
“We plan to paint the entire border wall black,” said the secretary, emphasizing that such a step would be effective against migration.
Additionally, it was reported that Noem herself personally visited the border and actively participated in supervising and supporting the painting work. Her visit coincided with a period when the number of arrests at the US southern border decreased.
The publication noted that Trump had already proposed this idea during his first presidential term and believes that a black wall serves as a physical and psychological barrier for migrants.
According to observations and comments, the black wall has caused debates among Americans. On one hand, this step is assessed as an effective measure to control migration, while on the other hand, it may be controversial from an aesthetic and ecological perspective.
