Search and rescue operations carried out in Kazakhstan's Sairam-Ugam National Park in Turkistan region have been completed. One of the tourists - an Uzbek citizen - died, while his companion survived, reports "Kursiv Media."
The search was conducted in the mountains at an altitude of 2 thousand meters. As relatives reported on September 1st, two young men, born in 1996 and 1997, set off on a trip from Shymkent on August 31st and subsequently ceased contact.
At first, rescuers tried to attract a helicopter, but the aircraft could not reach the dangerous zone. After this, the group continued the journey on foot. Experienced staff from the Alpinist Federation were called in to help, and it was with their help that we managed to reach the travelers.
The surviving young man was dismounted and handed over to his relatives. The body of the deceased was recovered separately and transferred to the police.
