13 tons of cocaine seized in Almaty - the largest shipment in the country's history

An unprecedented event occurred in Almaty: as reported by Kursiv.media, citing Sputnik Kazakhstan, the National Security Committee (KNB) seized over 13 tons of cocaine - the largest drug shipment ever intercepted in Kazakhstan.

According to the KNB, the cargo was intended for transit through the country's territory to other states. Thanks to the swift actions of the special services, the supply channel was promptly blocked.

As part of the case, two foreign citizens suspected of organizing international drug trafficking were detained. They have been arrested and are awaiting further proceedings.
