Fugitive father shot dead in New Zealand
In New Zealand, Tom Phillips, who disappeared with his three children in 2021, was shot dead by police. He had been on the run across the country for four years.

When police tried to stop his motorcycle, Phillips opened fire. As a result, one officer was injured, and Phillips was killed in the return fire.

Soon after, his three children were found in a forested area. It was reported that they were in good health.

Prime Minister Chris Luxon called the incident a “tragedy” and stressed that it would have a heavy impact on the children.
