The Israeli army has pushed into the Sheikh Radwan district of Gaza City with tanks and military vehicles. Before the war, this area was one of the most crowded parts of the city, home to thousands of people. Now, due to heavy attacks and bombardments, many residents are leaving their homes.
Israel said the operation aims to eliminate Hamas fighters and free hostages. However, international organizations strongly condemned the action, saying the dire situation in Gaza is “against humanity.”
Witnesses reported continuous bombardments in recent days, with houses, streets, and even water and electricity supplies being destroyed. Thousands of families are fleeing south, but traffic jams and a sharp rise in transport costs are making it very difficult.
According to the UN, 190,000 people have left Gaza City since August, but more than half a million residents still remain. Hamas’s health ministry said that since 7 October, more than 65,000 people have been killed, half of them women and children.
