According to recently published data, the distribution of men and women is different in the 20 most populous countries of the world. Interestingly, 9 of them are predominantly male, and another 9 are predominantly female. In the other two countries, the balance was maintained.
In India, the number of men has a sharp predominance. There, 55.8% of the population is male. With this indicator, the country ranks first in the ranking. Next is Egypt, where the proportion of men is 55.3%.
At the same time, in some countries, the number of women is significantly higher. This difference is clearly visible in the example of Russia: here women make up 63% of the total population, which is 13% more than men. The situation is similar in Japan - 55.5% of the country's population are women.
Interestingly, the balance has been maintained in two large countries, Indonesia and Congo. The population there is evenly distributed, with the proportion of men and women being the same - 50 percent each.
This analysis shows how the gender composition of the world's population can differ across different continents. This naturally affects demographics, the labor market, family life, and social policy.
As for Uzbekistan, according to the National Statistical Committee, as of April 1, 2025, the permanent population of the country was 37.7 million people. Including:
- Number of women - 18 million 714.9 thousand people,
- The number of men is 18 million 982.9 thousand people.
As can be seen, the number of men and women in Uzbekistan is almost proportional, and a natural balance is maintained in society.
