According to Saudi Arabian officials, the internationally recognized government of neighboring Yemen has received substantial financial assistance in the form of 1.38 billion Saudi riyals (approximately 368 million US dollars). The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on this matter.
The allocated aid is being implemented within the framework of the "Program for the Development and Revival of Yemen," implemented by Saudi Arabia. These funds will be directed to the Yemeni state budget as support, as well as to cover the costs of fuel delivery and the operation of the Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden.
According to UN figures, the situation in Yemen is very serious: approximately 80% of the country's population, that is, more than 24 million people, live in need of humanitarian aid. It is also noted that there are currently more than 4 million internally displaced persons in the territory of Yemen.
