Starting October 1st, a new US visa payment procedure will take effect. Now the visa fee for non-immigrant visas, that is, for foreigners traveling to the USA for study, work, or travel, has increased from $185 to $435. This change is related to the introduction of a new fee called "Visa Integrity Fee."
According to official data, the main purpose of this fee is to effectively combat illegal migration, modernize the visa system, and cover the costs incurred by persons who violate migration legislation.
Additionally, a minimum fee starting from $250 will be added to the $185 consular fee. According to experts, the amount of this payment may be increased in the future.
As a rule, foreign citizens who have received a visa within the framework of the law have the right to receive a refund after returning from a trip to the USA. However, it is noted that financial risks may arise as a result of exchange rate fluctuations due to the return of funds in rubles for Russian citizens.
Thus, the new US visa payment system is recognized as an important step towards further tightening rules in immigration processes and ensuring financial stability.
