US President Donald Trump emphasized that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union and NATO, may regain all the occupied territories.
He made this statement on the social network Truth Social after a meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
— After thoroughly analyzing the military and economic situation between Ukraine and Russia, I can say that Ukraine, with European support, may restore its lands to their original state. With patience and financial assistance, especially with NATO’s backing, why shouldn’t it be possible to return to the pre-war borders? — Trump wrote.
According to the President, Russia has been waging a pointless struggle for 3.5 years in a war that should have been resolved in a short time:
— In fact, they have come to resemble a “paper tiger.” Putin and Russia are now facing a huge economic crisis. Now it is time for Ukraine to act, — he said.
Trump also expressed his wish for peace to both countries and emphasized that he wants NATO to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine:
