The Hamas movement in Palestine made an important statement within the framework of the peace plan presented by American President Donald Trump. In its official statement, the group expressed its readiness to hand over the bodies of all surviving hostages and deceased in the Gaza Strip to Israel. This was reported by the AFP agency and Al Jazeera TV channel.
Hamas stated: "If the necessary conditions are created, we will act according to the exchange formula proposed by President Trump. We are also ready to immediately begin negotiations through intermediaries," he noted.
The movement also expressed its intention to "transfer the administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent body based on the Palestinian national consensus and with Arab and Islamic support." This can pave the way for new political processes in the region.
However, Musa Abu Marzuq, a spokesperson for the Hamas political bureau, stated that handing over hostages and bodies within 72 hours is practically impossible, which is currently considered only a theoretical issue.
The movement also openly stated that it had not made any decisions on the issue of disarmament. Hamas leaders based in Qatar emphasize the need to change some of the terms in the plan proposed by the US President.
US President Donald Trump published a response from Hamas on Truth Social, writing that this process could be the last chance for peace. He emphasized that if the agreement fails, there will be unprecedented consequences for Hamas.
This event indicates that the complex political processes in the region have entered a new stage. Further negotiations could have a significant impact not only on Gaza but on the entire Middle East.
