Orban: "Europe is stronger than Russia, why should we be afraid?"

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated at the European Union leaders’ summit in Copenhagen that there is no need to fear Russia.

According to Orban, Russia cannot pose a serious threat to Europe because it is much weaker militarily and economically. He also noted that Russia’s population is much smaller than Europe’s.

"There are only about 131–140 million people living in Russia, while the European Union has a population of more than 400 million. Russia’s economy is also very small, while ours is much larger and stronger," Orban said.

At the same time, he mentioned that if Russian drones violate Hungary’s airspace, they will be shot down immediately.

"We are not afraid of this. If such a situation occurs, of course, we will shoot them down," the Hungarian leader added.
