In France, an athlete set a record by cycling to the Eiffel Tower

French professional athlete Orelin Fontenot broke a new world record in cycling to the Eiffel Tower. He climbed to the second floor of the tower in 12 minutes 30 seconds, improving his previous record by almost 7 minutes.

According to the official Facebook page of the Eiffel Tower, the athlete climbed 686 steps and set a record using a trial bike. Such bicycles are designed for overcoming special obstacles and moving on uneven roads.

The previous record was 19 minutes and 4 seconds. Orelen Fonteno covered this distance in 12 minutes and 30 seconds, improving the result by 6 minutes and 34 seconds.

For information, Fonteno is a three-time world vice-champion and has participated in many international cycling competitions.

This achievement on the Eiffel Tower was highly appreciated by the French sports community and was noted as the first official cycling record to be set on a symbolic building in Paris.
