Today, on October 7, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, made a phone call to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and sincerely congratulated him on his 73rd birthday, the press service of the Uzbek leader reported.
During the conversation, the head of state warmly congratulated the Russian leader on his birthday, wishing him strong health, peace, happiness, and new achievements. Wishes of prosperity and well-being were also extended to the people of Russia.
It was noted that the phone conversation was not limited to congratulations — the Presidents also discussed issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.
The parties emphasized the importance of consistently implementing the agreements reached at the highest level, particularly in expanding economic cooperation. They discussed increasing the volume of mutual trade, advancing cooperative projects between leading enterprises and companies in the fields of industry, energy, and agriculture.
The Presidents also highlighted the importance of expanding business ties between the regions of both countries and developing new investment directions. During the conversation, the active continuation of cultural and humanitarian exchanges was also noted — the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples were said to be growing even stronger.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin also exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues. In addition, the leaders discussed the schedule of upcoming events and agreed on practical steps for their implementation.
For reference: President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was born on October 7, 1952, in Saint Petersburg. On December 31, 1999, by the decision of the late Boris Yeltsin, he was appointed Acting President of Russia and officially assumed the presidency on May 7, 2000. In 2004, he was re-elected for a second term, and in 2008 he handed over the presidency to Dmitry Medvedev.
In the 2012 presidential election, he won with 64 percent of the vote and began his third term as head of state. Since then, Putin has further strengthened his position as a leading figure in Russian politics and continues to play a central role in governing the country.
Mirziyoyev’s congratulation, according to observers, symbolizes the close relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, showing that the strategic partnership between the two nations is becoming stronger year after year. Thus, this cordial conversation between the Presidents had not only a personal but also a political significance.
