American woman Linn White represented herself in court and won the case with the help of ChatGPT and Perplexity, NBC News reports.
Linn rented and lived in a mobile home in Los Angeles but was late on her payment. According to local laws, rent payments can be delayed up to 12 months, but the lawyer defending her lost the case.
After that, Linn decided to file an appeal and sought help from ChatGPT. She uploaded all court documents to the chatbot and managed to find procedural errors in the case. Then, using Perplexity Pro, she studied the necessary laws and strengthened her defense.
As a result, the court ruled in Linn’s favor — the eviction notice was canceled, and she was freed from a $55,000 penalty and $18,000 in rent debt.
Most importantly, Linn saved more than $73,000 in legal expenses.
Experts say:
“It is still people, not artificial intelligence, who ensure justice.”
