The Bank of Russia has suspended the choice of 500 ruble banknotes

The Bank of Russia has temporarily suspended the online voting process for the design of the new 500 ruble banknote. According to the regulator's official statement, artificial activity and fake votes were recorded in the voting results.

According to the data, two main options competed in the competition - Elbrus, considered the highest peak of the Caucasus, and the modern complex Grozny City in the capital of Chechnya.

According to the Bank of Russia, some technical and information security rules were violated during the voting process. Therefore, it was noted that the calculation results at the end of the competition may not reflect the real situation.

Interestingly, the day before, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced on his Telegram channel an additional incentive competition for users who voted in favor of Grozny. He promised to give 10 winners iPhone smartphones.
