A road accident in Russia’s Amur region has attracted public attention. Earlier, media outlets reported that a bus carrying citizens of Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Tajikistan had overturned. However, official sources denied this information, according to the Migration Agency.
According to reports, on October 16, at the 19th kilometer of the Blagoveshchensk–Svobodny highway, a traffic accident occurred involving a passenger bus and a car. The bus belonged to the major Turkish construction company “Yamata.”
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Khabarovsk and the Migration Agency’s representative office in the Russian Federation promptly conducted an investigation.
The inquiry established that there were no citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on board the bus. Official data indicates that one passenger was killed and 14 others were injured to varying degrees.
The Migration Agency emphasized that it continues to work closely with relevant Russian authorities to ensure the safety of Uzbek citizens residing in the country.
The causes of the accident involving the Turkish company’s bus are currently being investigated by local law enforcement authorities.
