The Ukrainian military announced another strike on an important military facility in Russia. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the evening of October 21 that an attack was carried out on a chemical plant located in the Bryansk region.
According to official information, the operation was carried out "in cooperation with the Ground Forces, the Navy, and other units of the defense system." Air-launched Storm Shadow missiles were used in the attack. The Ukrainian military emphasized that these missiles allowed them to bypass the Russian air defense system.
"The Bryansk Chemical Plant is an important link in the Russian military-industrial complex. It produces gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel. Ammunition used for shelling Ukrainian territory will also be produced here," a statement from the Ukrainian General Staff said.
The exact date of the strike has not been specified, but the results of the attack are currently being determined.
At the same time, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported other incidents via Telegram. According to him, at approximately 8:00 PM Moscow time, Ukrainian troops launched an FPV drone attack on the village of Vishnevy in the Klimovsk district, resulting in injuries to two civilians.
Bogomaz later quoted the Russian Ministry of Defense as saying that "air defense systems detected and destroyed 57 enemy drones, and no casualties were recorded." However, he did not comment on the attack on the chemical plant.
The governor also reported that two "missile hazard" warnings were issued in the Bryansk region. The first signal was given at 17:00 Moscow time and was canceled an hour later. The next warning was issued at midnight, at 00:30.
This attack is one of the latest strikes by Ukraine on Russia's military production infrastructure, and experts assess it as evidence of Kyiv's expanding strategic offensive capabilities.
